ST. GEORGE, Utah — The person who originally reported a juvenile being abducted at a St. George school bus stop Friday has now clarified their remarks, saying they did not actually see anyone being forced into a vehicle.

St. George police were called to the area of Bloomington Hills North at 7:10 a.m. after a juvenile reported a child, who appeared to be about 12 years old, was pushed into the backseat of an older model, dark green, 4-door pickup truck by an adult man.

The incident was alleged to have happened in the vicinity of a bus stop.

In the aftermath of the alleged incident, all students at Sunrise Ridge Intermediate School were accounted for.

During their immediate investigation, police found no evidence to support the claim or additional witnesses, and during a follow-up interview, the original teenage witness clarified that they observed a commotion but did not see anyone actually being forced into a vehicle.

Despite the abduction appearing to be unfounded, police said the teen did the right thing and they take every report seriously, and that parents need to educate their children on what to do if they see danger.

“Hopefully they're having those conversations with their kids beforehand so that when their kid is in an emergency situation or even just something where they see something that doesn't feel right, that they know how to react," said Sgt. Brent Huish with the St. George Police Department.
